This has been a full week - to say the least.
First of all, if you are looking for information on our Goldendoodles, please go to our Goldendoodle site: CuteGoldendoodles.com. This site will be for non-Goldendoodles.
On Tuesday, June 1st, we brought three litters (17 puppies in total) down to our farmhouse in the Lansing (MI) area, from their birth home up north of Petoskey (MI). The puppies had all been fully weaned, and we needed to get them more centrally located in the State. They handled the trip wonderfully, and have been enjoying the additional people time, and running around time.
First thing we did? - invite friends over and have an impromptu Spa Day! My kids got right on their phone and rounded up the gang. We gave each puppy a detailed bath and massage - followed by towel/air dry and some people-love.
Some of them loved the water... |
Some of them loved just getting out of the water... |
They ALL loved play time! |
"Hey! That's great, but more about the puppies!"
OK. I hear you...
These puppies all started out "Up North" because they are my Sister (in law's) puppies. Although she spends a lot of time with us, Janice's official house is up north.
There are three litters of puppies available. The 3 moms are: Sangria, Rose, and Pearl. All three of the moms are standard-sized F1 Goldendoodles. The moms are all about 45-50 pounds. Janice owns all three moms and they live in their house up north.
The dad for all three litters is Finn, a pure-blood Bernese Mountain Dog imported from Europe for pure bloodlines. Finn is a wonderfully playful and gentle boy. He has been raised by Janice since he was a puppy. He now weighs a bit over 100 pounds (typical for a Berner boy) and he just LOVES people.
Why did we pick such a unique breed combination? If you look closely, you will see that "Golden Mountain Doodles", or "Mountain Goldendoodles", or "Bernese Mountain Doodles" are being bred more frequently around the country. They are not small dogs, but many people love a big dog to run and play with. These puppies will be beautiful, people-friendly, lovable, playful, balls of furry fun!
Questions:
How big will these puppies be when they grow up? - These are our fist litters of this type. We think it is fair to say "about 80 pounds" but we will be learning that as these litters grow.
Will they shed? - All of the moms are low/no shedding F1 Goldendoodles. Mixing in the Bernese might add a little shedding, but nothing like a full blood Bernese Mountain Dog. If you are highly susceptible to dog allergies, or if you would scream at the slightest amount of hair on your floor, then these might not be the dogs for you. I would never tell you these will be "hypoallergenic," but we really don't think the shedding will be too bad. But, we will learn more as they grow.
How old are they? - All three litters were born within a week of April 22, 2021, so they will be ready to go to new homes on the weekend of June 18-19. They will be fully de-wormed, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and vet checked.
How much are the puppies? - We are pricing them by litter - which is also the amount of black in their coats.
Rose's litter is more traditionally tr-colored like Berners. There are 2 boys available in this litter and they are $2,500 each.
Sangria's puppies are mostly black with some large white patches. Her puppies are $2,000 each and there are 5 boys and 1 girl available.
Pearl's puppies are mostly black, with some occasional white on feet and tail. The are offered at $1,800 each and there are 3 girls and 3 boys available.
I'll post some great puppy pictures here shortly, and if you have any other questions, or want to come and see them, just let me know: info@SherwoodFarms.dog or call/text to the number in "Contact Info"
